Careless Driving is a serious offence, but this broadly worded charge can carry serious consequences including 6 demerit points, fines, and increases to your insurance rates. Where you've been charged with careless driving for a serious collision, you could expect fines up to $1000, a prison term of up to 6 months, and 2-year license suspension.

Stunt Driving is a newly amended offence under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. Drivers caught travelling 40 km/h or more above the speed limit on a road where the posted limit is less than 80 km/h can be charged with stunt driving. Upon conviction, you could face penalties of 6 demerit points, fines of $2000 to $10,000, a 6-month jail sentence, or license suspension.

Speeding  can lead to fines, demerit points, and possible license suspensions. Hiring a paralegal may save you money and points. Speeding tickets are common, and we know if you've been caught going over the limit you may be considering pleading guilty. Pleading guilty can have serious, long-term consequences, but with the right legal advice you may have your charge reduced, dismissed, or withdrawn

Driving While Suspended is a serious offence can lead to fines upwards of $1,000 to $5,000, further suspensions, and imprisonment. There are defences available to you that can lead to withdrawals, lesser penalties, or dismissals. These defences can vary on a case-by-case basis.

Cellphone Charges  or charges of Distracted Driving can be laid if you've been accused of using a mobile phone or other hand-held devices while operating a vehicle, smoking, eating, or evening listening to your music too loudly. These charges can carry fines, demerit points, and license suspensions. Novice drivers will face more serious penalties, longer suspensions, and even possible license cancellations.

Driving Without Insurance is a charge that carries fines upwards of $10,000. A subsequent conviction could lead to fines not less than $10,000. A conviction for this offence could cause you to be classified as a high-risk driver. There are defences available to you that can lead to withdrawals, lesser penalties, or dismissals. These defences can vary on a case-by-case basis.

Seatbelt Tickets  can vary and may lead to two demerit points and fines. These vocations can also affect insurance rates and renewals.

Red Light Tickets if found guilty, could result in up to 3 demerit points or fines. These tickets are common, and it is best to receive legal advice prior to a guilty plea

Fail to Remain is an offence that carries fines, 6 months imprisonment, and license suspension. This is one of the most serious offences under the Highway Traffic Act that can have serious implications. There are defences to this charge and if successful, we could have your charge reduced, dismissed, or withdrawn.

MTO Charges govern Commercial Motor Vehicle Charges and CVOR points.  There are several possible violations that can lead to loss of employment at times. We understand the seriousness of your matter, the risks involved, and the implications of losing your livelihood.
